Royal Class - Reception

Royal Class is a Reception Class taught by Miss Yates & Miss Clark

Welcome to Royal Class

Summer 1- Summer term started with a very exciting topic- 'I wonder who lives happily ever after'. Our Fairytale ball was a great way to hook the children and they came in wearing some fantastic character outfits. They enjoyed an afternoon of story telling, hot chocolate and biscuits.

Throughout the topic we looked at lots of different traditional tales such as, The Gingerbread Man, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and we based our writing around Jack and the Beanstalk. 

The children came up with some fantastic adjectives to describe the giant and produced some wonderful English work. 

One of our favourite activities was our sense testing when we looked at ingredients ready to bake our very own ginger bread people. The children all enjoyed trying the sweet treacle and luckily our gingerbread people didn't run away so we could take them home to eat.

We did a lot of work around 2D and 3D shapes and they children were fantastic at spotting these shapes though out our classroom and school. They did some great building work in our construction area with shapes too.

We look forward to next half term for our topic of ' I wonder what we see on safari'.

Our aim is to ensure your child is the happiest, best version of themselves whilst in our school environment. We like to ensure learning is led by your child's interests and then supported and extended by us. We love to facilitate learning both indoors and outdoors where we have lots of fun!
