I have been so impressed with the children's maturity since returning from the half term. We have already completed some fantastic learning and I cannot wait to continue our learning journey as we prepare for Christmas. We have written fantastic twisted narratives based on an alternative traditional tale ending - the children have used suspense and descriptive vocabulary which has blown me away! In Science, we will be conducting investigations each week linking to our learning all about rocks and soils - the children have shown great enthusiasm so far in this topic and I am so exctied to see this progress this half term.

Welcome to Spring 1! I have been so impressed with the children's mature attitude as we have started our half term learning. In Writing, the children have created some wonderful sentences ahead of our diary entries using adverbials, first person, apostrophes for contractions and slang. The children are really engaged with our writing stimulus - an unusual discovery found in the garden!
In Science, we have started our learning all about forces and magnets. The children have investigated how different forces act on an object to learn all about friction and how it slows down objects on different surfaces.
Our immerse day for our History topic of 'Why did the Anglo-Saxons come to Britain?' was a huge success, with children making Anglo-Saxon jewellery and bookmarks with Anglo-Saxons runes. The home learning completed by the children over the Christmas break has given them a brilliant start point for our learning.
I am looking forward to the term ahead and cannot wait to make more memories with the children throughout Spring 1.
